something you don’t see everyday: Sneakers with headlights. Designed by Feijun Chen & Bin Zhao, the concept Pioneer shoes come with built-in kinetic-recharging headlights, so you don’t have to fear getting lost in the dark during your next midnight jogging session.
They’ve got a battery inside which charges on each step, using some mysterious tech that doesn’t look piezoelectric. Apparently this can power the LEDs in the front for a full 12 hours.

There’s a new Version of Google Talk: the Labs edition, a desktop client that looks very similar to the Google Talk gadget and has most of its features. The application doesn’t support voice chat or file transfer, but it has some new features: it lets you launch Google Calendar and Orkut, while including notifications for Google Calendar events and Orkut scraps. The new Google Talk uses WebKit to render some parts of the interface.
